WHY I AM RUNNING

I love Nevada. I chose to make it my home because of its spirit of independence, opportunity, and innovation—a place where people come to build better lives, free from the heavy hand of government overreach. But I've seen what happens when a state loses that edge. I experienced it in Illinois. Years of out-of-touch Democratic policies left the state less safe, less accountable, and disconnected from people who simply wanted to work hard and raise a family.

That's why I'm running for Nevada State Treasurer—to protect our state's fiscal strength, independence, and future. I feel called to serve and safeguard what makes Nevada special. Complaining about career politicians is easy. Stepping up, facing scrutiny, and taking real responsibility is hard. The leap from private citizen to public servant can feel daunting, especially for those who've never been career politicians. But when people with real-world expertise run and win, it breaks the cycle of entrenched, self-serving politics and opens the door for principled leaders.

My primary goal is clear: Keep Nevada strong, transparent, and fiscally sound -  eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.

Today's technologies and financial systems can dramatically increase transparency, efficiency, and accountability. Taxpayers deserve to know exactly where their money goes, how it's managed, and why decisions are made. Modernizing operations will reduce waste, improve oversight, and restore public trust—while delivering strong, responsible returns through sound investment strategy. That's not optional; it's the job.

I'll pursue strong, responsible return on investment through prudent stewardship. Understanding risk is critical in this role—it's not optional. As a former professional trader at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, I managed risk daily in fast-moving markets. That real-world experience means I know how to ask the tough questions, assess exposures, and protect taxpayer dollars before they are put on the line.  This is not a place for on-the-job training.

I also take the responsibility of protecting public pensions seriously. I've seen firsthand what happens when governments fail in this duty—Illinois pushed its pensions to the brink through mismanagement. That won't happen here. Public employees work too hard to have their retirement jeopardized by political games. My father was a teacher; I understand what's at stake.

This office is inherently nonpartisan—it's about finance, not politics. It's about return on investment, credit management, payments, collections, and smart risk decisions. My approach is straightforward: Steward taxpayer dollars prudently to achieve the best results within a clear, responsible risk framework.

This race is deeply personal. I saved diligently for my daughter's college education. In 2008, while her funds were in what was supposed to be a conservative government bond portfolio through Illinois' college savings program, the Treasurer's office lost 38% due to incompetence and failure, not just market forces. Families paid the price. That experience drives me: No Nevada family should ever face that kind of loss.

Nevada is uniquely positioned to lead. As a smaller, agile state, we can lead the nation with bold, transparent financial reforms that others will follow. We can set a national example for competent, transparent financial stewardship

I chose Nevada—with its wide-open outdoors, its climate, its energy, and most of all, its people. Nevadans are welcoming, resilient, and real. This is a place where neighbors still matter, and freedom is embraced and valued.

Now Nevadans have the opportunity to choose me.
